How to Calculate Your Cumulative GPA

  1. Enter prior GPA and completed credits.
  2. Enter current semester GPA and credits.
  3. See new cumulative GPA.

Mathematical Formula

Merges prior quality points with new semester quality points.

\text{Cum. GPA} = \frac{(\text{Prior GPA} \times \text{Prior Credits}) + (\text{Current GPA} \times \text{Current Credits})}{\text{Prior Credits} + \text{Current Credits}}

Worked Example

Scenario: Prior: 3.40 GPA across 60 credits. Current: 3.80 GPA across 15 credits.

((3.40*60) + (3.80*15)) / 75 = (204 + 57) / 75 = 261 / 75 = 3.48

Result: Cumulative GPA rises to 3.48
