How to Calculate Your College GPA

  1. Input course names and credits.
  2. Select letter grades.
  3. Calculate semester GPA.

Mathematical Formula

Quality points divided by attempted credit hours.

\text{GPA} = \frac{\text{Total Quality Points}}{\text{Total Credit Hours}}

Worked Example

Scenario: 15 credits: two 4-credit classes with A and B, two 3-credit classes with A- and B+.

Quality points = (4*4.0)+(4*3.0)+(3*3.7)+(3*3.3) = 16+12+11.1+9.9 = 49.0. GPA = 49/15 = 3.27

Result: College GPA is 3.27
